Ribbon Cutting in Bentonville

09/15/2023 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM ET

Description

Join us on September 15th for a ribbon cutting at Bentonville Battlefield State Historic Site to open a new mile of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail.

Ceremony begins at 10:30 am; plan to arrive by 10 am to travel the short distance from the parking lot to the trail site and enjoy light refreshments before the festivities. We’ll be emceeing the event and speakers include Reid Wilson, secretary of the NC Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, and representatives from Bentonville Battlefield State Historic Site, NC State Historic Sites and the other partners who made this exciting new trail possible.

Once the ribbon has been cut, you can explore the new trail, join guides along a spur trail off the new MST around Union Earthworks, or visit other locations on site. Park at the Cole Planation lot and walk or take a very short shuttle to the trail head.
