For the 43rd Birthday of the NC Mountains to Sea Trail, a 43km Hiking Challenge has been proposed, with one section in each of our Regions.

Life permitting. Body willing. I will attempt to hike ALL THREE of the 43km Birthday Hikes OVER ONE WEEKEND. Roughly 80 miles total:

Hike 1 (Sat Sept 5): Segment 5 - EB Miles 60.1 - 87.2 Jumpinoff Rock Parking to Brinegar Cabin at Doughton Park - 27.1 miles

Hike 2 (Sun Sept 6): Segment 10 - EB Miles 39.2 to 64.9 (Rolling View Recreation Area to Yorkshire Center) - 26.4 miles

Hike 3 (Mon Sept 7): Segment 15 - EB Miles 0 to 28.3 (Holly Shelter Game Lands to Surf City Welcome Center) - 28.3 miles
